Xaar 128 Printhead Cleaner

[Introduction]:

The characteristics of solvent based ink for outdoor printer are easy to be evaporated and fast dry, which clogs the print head very easily. In some condition that the print head clogs more frequently if the ink was mixed some micro impurity. Currently there are 3 ways to clean the print head:

1. Using vacuum cleaner to suck out the built up from outside of the jets.

2. Using syringe with cleaning liquid push out from the inlet of the jet.

3. By ultra-sonic vibrator.

Those 3 above methods will result in

1. Break the edge shape of nozzle.

2. Destroy the piezoelectric crystal inside the jet. 3. Neither cleans the jet at all.

Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner (XJ-128)

According to above problems, Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner was developed based on the research of nozzle construction and electric specification. Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner is good for Xaar-128 print jet in non-destroyed cleaning and maintenances by computerized controlled piezoelectric crystal vibration. Generally, it takes 10 minutes to finish whole cleaning process.

[Application]:

Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner is applied on Xaar-128 print jet.

[Instructions]:

a. Make sure the power of Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner is off. Connect the Xaar-128 to the Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner. Be sure there is only one side can be connected on the connector of Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner. Also use the attached PVC tube to connect the inlet of print jet and syringe.

b. Put the print jet in a cleaning liquid vessel for soaking about 10 minutes. The time for soaking is depended on how much remains or how much dry of the jet. Make sure do not put whole jet in the cleaning liquid. Leave the connector on the top.

c. Turn on the Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner. Then manually slow to pull the syringe first time for about 10ml from the jet. Release the end of the syringe and drain the 10ml liquid if there is micro impurity.

d. Pull out the syringe and pour about 20 to 40 ml of cleaning liquid into the syringe, manually slow pushing the cleaning liquid into jet. Then repeat pulling and pushing manually to clean the jet. Make sure do not pull and push too hard to protecting the inside of jet. Continue this cleaning cycle for about 10 minutes.

e. Turn off the Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner. Take out the jet from the vessel and disconnect it from Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner. Using a syringe with cleaning liquid to visual checking the output of the jet to decide whether to continue the cleaning cycle or not.

[Warning]:

a. Make sure the power of Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner is off when connecting or disconnecting the jet to or from the Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner.

b. Cleaning liquid is inflammable, watch out for fire prevention.

c. If there is some lines spread out in different direction when visually checking the after-clean condition. This means some surfaces of nozzles were damaged. This cannot be repaired.

d. Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner is perfect for clean and regular maintenance. Xaar 128 printhead Cleaner cannot repair the damaged jet.
